I would like to challenge you to do some research into Peter’s message on the first day of the church- The Day of Pentecost. I know you believe and preach repentance and you encourage everyone to seek the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, but how do you baptize?

Peter preached on the first day of the church, …
Act 2:37  Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Act 2:38  Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Act 2:39  For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Peter, who was given the keys to the kingdom, by Jesus Christ himself, tells the crowd in Jerusalem, when everyone was marveling at what had happened in the upper room, what they must do when they asked the question, “men and brethren what must we do?”

As a result of what Peter preached, how then shall we baptize? Again, Peter said, “and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins…”

Do we really have our sins remitted- taken away-by being baptized in any other name?

Jesus gave Peter the Keys to the Kingdom. On the first day of the church Peter used those keys to open the door to salvation. In Matthew 28, Jesus truly instructed the disciples  to baptize in the Name of the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit. So what is the NAME of the father? JESUS. What is the name of the son? JESUS. What is the name of the Holy Spirit? JESUS.

Phillip inquired, “Lord show us the father.” Joh 14:9  Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long timewith you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

Joh 14:26  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Isa 9:6  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

As you continue to read through the book of Acts, you see that everyone that was ever baptized was baptized unto Christ or in the name of Jesus. We even read that John’s disciples were rebaptized.

Again, I just want to challenge you to do a little study on the first message preached on the Day of Pentecost. I know it was eye-opening for me!

May God richly bless you as you continue to direct souls to HIM,
